everything in it's place

my dad often shares a story that goes something like this...

"when melissa was little we used to go up to wallsburg for weekend trips with all the little kids, where we'd ride horses, go for bike rides, play football, play in the barn and always have so much fun. one weekend on the drive home from yet another perfect trip, i asked melissa what her favorite part of the trip was, expecting her answer to be something about riding horses. but the response i got was, "organizing the back of the car.""

you see, i loved organizing all the groceries, sleeping bags, pillows, duffel bags, and other things that we would pack in to the back of our old station wagon on our drive to and from. and for some reason, THAT was my favorite part.

i still love to organize, or rather BE organized. being organized with school stuff or anything has always been important to me. i always loved in elementary school when the teacher would give us time to clean out our desks. and i always find time to organize my closet. ya, i know. weird.

and i realized today during my outing to ikea that there are two things that i could spend my whole paycheck on...

1. organizational things --- all sorts of jars, boxes or baskets.
2. pillows and blankets.

nothing makes a bed more comfortable then a bunch of pillows, and nothing is more relaxing than a movie with your favorite blanket. pillows and blankets can just make a house a home don't you think?

and i always complain when B calls me OCD...
