a day to remember.

today was surely a day to remember.
today i finished a huge folklore project which has been occupying too much of my time.
today we went to subway and ordered then went to pay and realized neither of us brought money.
today we played basketball during a homework break and i lost, like usual.
today i ate chocolate cake for lunch and it was delicious.
today it was sunny and warm.
today we took 'the dig' (B's dog) for a ride in the jeep, just for fun.
today we went to park city and bought some basketball shorts.
today we played lacrosse at wasatch jr. high. 
today B had a job interview.
today B got a job.
and today B got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.
and today i said yes.

this is how it happened.

I was waiting for my Dad to edit the last part of my paper so I could print it out and get to class. We had an extra hour so we went to Wasatch Jr. High to play lacrosse... nothing new for us, we play whenever its warm and have played there ever since I was a sophomore in high school. We played crossbar (where you get points for hitting the post) and I won the first game. Since I won the bet I got to choose whatever I wanted. I told him I wanted him to say "I love you" after every sentence. For the next game he said,  "First to hit the post wins." He took the first shot and hit the post right off, he even broke the net. So I said, "What do you want?" First, he said YOU. And then he got down on one knee and pulled out my ring and said.... "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" I screamed, hugged him, said "You're kidding." probably 17 times. Then I said, "YES!" Then he slipped my ring on my finger and we stood at Wasatch for a long time hugging, kissing, looking at my ring and deciding who to tell first. Then, lucky me, I had to rush to class to give my folklore presentation and sat in class for three hours just staring at my ring.

It was the best day of my life. At least it will be until June 29, 2011.
