sometimes i miss getting letters in the mail. the excitement to see the mailman walking up the lawn. seeing the scribbly handwriting that you've come to love. waiting to look at the pictures last because it's like eating the crust on a pb&j, you always have to enjoy the best part last. and always reading past letters on the days i missed him most.
i was a great letter writer. i often wrote back the same day i got the letter and they were always handwritten and colorful. and between letters i sent many postcards. my letters were filled with pictures and mementos from recent adventures. and the best part, i always included a scripture and a quote.
for eleven months now, BMoney has owed me a letter because towards the end of his mission he promised one more letter before he came home, but he got busy finishing his mission and never got around to it.
about a week ago, he asked me to get something from the back of his trunk which is where i found the long-awaited letter, complete with a paper towel rose.
it was the most genuine and sincere letter. i cried. it was so needed and so appreciated. the letter now lives in my purse so i can read it whenever i want. that is something i will cherish for the rest of my life. along with the rest of the 23 letters i have saved from him.
thanks B. love you. and i know you're going to read this. cause you read my blog.
