sunny santa barbara

NOT.

the santa barbara shootout was anything but sunny.
try some of these words: rainy, wet, soggy, freezing, soaked, rainstorm, downpour, monsoon, tornado, or what the girls like to call: notebook rain. the kind of rain where you are completely soaked (through your under armor to your sports bra and through your spandex to your underwear). dripping wet. as if you jumped in a pool with all your clothes on.
then play 4 games in this weather. then get on a bus for 15 hours without showers or dry socks.
needless to say, the santa barbara tournament wasn't the escape from the cold weather we were all looking forward to. BUT it was still lots of fun and one of those tournaments that we will always talk about.

here were some of the highlights:
  • beating Pitt 8-5.
  • beating Texas 10-7.
  • a petting zoo at the gas station in beaver, utah. complete with a baby zebra.
  • coloring books.
  • new uniforms.
  • watching: baby mama, despicable me, toy story 3, blindside, easy a and probably more.
  • having a huge boom box provided by our goalie, gretchen.
  • going commando because of the lack of dry underwear.
  • relating scriptures to lacrosse games.
  • calls from B which led to being in the bus' bathroom for a long time.
  • playing most likely and did you know. which led to getting to know the girls and coaches on the team much better and finding out how they really think about people. (i was voted most likely to get a boob job. followed by most likely to be on the bachelorette. which is fitting because it is my favorite show and we talked about it for many hours on the bus but unlike brad and chantel... i don't need to go to anguila (not angola) to find love.)
  • being completely spoiled from Mama Nash and Daddy Nash. (they are the some of the parents of the team and provided my teammates and i costco treats between games, blankets, underarmor, hand warmers, and mostly the greatest support ever. they spoil me so much on tournaments. every hour or so i get a text asking how i'm feeling and if i (or the team) need anything, then they bring cold water and advil to me after the games, then i always get a text from my dad describing on of the awesome plays i contributed to and how proud he is of me. and they sit in the pouring rain for hours on their romantic california trip. they are seriously the best.)
  • chris' blue finger nails with little white Ys on them. (last season, chris promised us that if we won regionals he would paint his fingernails and if we won nationals he would get acryllics. well, we won regionals so he showed up to santa barbara with blue nails.)
here are some of the lowlights:
  • losing to florida 10-11 in overtime.
  • losing to calpoly 10-5.
  • shin splints and cramps at the same time.
here are some pictures (i didn't get any pictures of actual lacrosse or the beach because my camera would have been ruined in a matter of seconds because of the monsoon we experienced):
gretchen and her sweet boom box.
after a model walk down the aisle of the bus.

my parents' hotel was DARLING. i LOOOOVE this yellow couch.

if i had a house/apartment, this is exactly how i would decorate.

i think the blue really brings out his eyes.

    good job on your wins!

also- what's up with the bus? no more driving in groups of 4 w/ multiple speeding tickets? weird!
